This Is The World’s Biggest Tree Crusher! The Monstrous LeTourneau G175!

The G175 tree crusher was built by LeTourneau back in the 1960`s. These monstrous machines were specially designed for clearing vast areas of woodland. It`s also the only self-powered machine of its kind. It`s electrically powered and very similar in concept to a steamroller. This particular machine in the video was brought to the Kennedy Siding in 1964. It arrived on six rail cars and it took four days to offload and reassemble. This machine is no longer in use. Last time it was used was back in 1965. Now, you can find it in Mackenzie BC as a tourist attraction.

Nevertheless, its power is indisputable. This tree crusher measures 56 feet long, 35 feet wide and 21 feet tall. It weighs astonishing 175 tons as well. It was fitted with two V12 diesel Cummins engines which combined delivered 1400HP. Some of these machines were actually used for clearing vast areas of forest during the Vietnam War. The US military leaders quickly realized the enormous advantage the jungle provided the Viet Kong. These machines must`ve destroyed vast areas of woodland indeed. We just hope new trees were replanted in their place. Watch the video below and tell us what you think.
